Les travaux de l'équipe SARA concernent les réseaux et les systèmes de communication de nouvelle génération et leurs applications.


Avec l’essor de l’Internet des objets et de l'Edge Computing, la multiplication des technologies d’accès radio (notamment de la 5G et des réseaux LPWAN) et une tendance forte à la virtualisationdes réseaux, l’importance de ces systèmes va encore s’amplifier. Ces développements vont également conduire à une complexité sans précédent des réseaux, dont la maîtrise pose d'ores et déjà de réelles difficultés conceptuelles. Dans ce contexte, les travaux de l'équipe visent de réelles avancées méthodologiques permettant de maîtriser la conception, le déploiement, la planification, la supervision et le contrôle des réseaux et services de communication. Nos contributions portent notamment sur l’élaboration de méthodes, de modèles et d'outils ainsi que sur la proposition d'architectures, de protocoles et de services. Pour adresser ces défis, l'équipe est organisée en deux axes de recherche, les travaux du premier concernant plus spécifiquement les architectures et services en réseau, alors que les travaux du second portent sur les algorithmes distribués, les protocoles et les architectures réseaux. Ces deux axes sont bien sûr en interaction et s'appuient sur un certain nombre de modèles et d'outils théoriques, allant des grammaires de graphes et des ontologies aux théories des files d'attente et des jeux non-coopératifs, en passant par l'optimisation mathématique et l'apprentissage automatique.

Approches permettant de passer d’architectures en silos applicatifs vers des architectures ouvertes et dynamiquement reconfigurables accueillant de multiples applications conscientes de leur contexte d’exécution.

Réseaux éco-conscients

Ce sujet de recherche s'articule autour des problématiques d'optimisation multi-objectifs de Qualité de Service (QdS) et d'efficience énergétique dans les architectures innovantes d'aujourd'hui (cloud/fog/edge computing).

Algorithmes, protocoles et services passant à l’échelle

Le but de ces travaux est de concevoir les algorithmes d’allocation de ressource et d’ordonnancement, mais aussi de découverte et de composition de services, qui passent à l’échelle des réseaux de demain.

Réseaux et applications autonomes

L’objectif est de concevoir les méthodes permettant aux réseaux et aux applications de réagir aux événements adverses et aux fluctuations de la demande de manière autonome, c’est-à-dire avec une intervention humaine minimale.

Softwarisation et Virtualisation des réseaux

Nos travaux visent des réseaux plus agiles dans lesquels les plans de données et de contrôle sont séparés et dans lesquels certaines fonctions sont implémentées en logiciel.

Métrologie réseau et optimisation en ligne

Il s’agit de concevoir de nouvelles approches de métrologie des réseaux et de caractérisation de trafic, mais aussi de détection d’anomalies et d’optimisation en ligne à partir de mesures.

Algorithmes et applications parallèles ou distribuées

Nos travaux visent le développement de nouvelles approches de parallélisation et de distribution des calculs.

Plateforme 5G : Plateforme expérimentale basée sur des serveurs et des USRP pour le matériel, et surtout des logiciels Open Air Interface (OAI). Elle permet de mettre en place jusqu’à deux gNodeB (antennes 5G) et deux utilisateurs pour des expérimentations. L’objectif est de mettre en œuvre de nouvelles approches de gestion des ressources, de sécurité, … pour pouvoir les évaluer en environnement réel. Elle permet de compléter le spectre d’étude en permettant d’évaluer des implémentations réelles des nouvelles techniques que nous développons pour la 5G.

OptiCloudNRJ : Plateforme de Cloud basée sur OpenStack composé de 4 serveurs dont un frontal alimenté en AC et énergétiquement monitorés par un PDU ; 2 serveurs sont situés dans le bâtiment ADREAM et sont alimentés en DC via une baie de panneaux photovoltaïques dédiée. En tirant partie du système de supervision du bus DC au niveau du bâtiment ADREAM, l’idée est de pouvoir déployer des algorithmes/heuristiques d’ordonnancement de tâches/machines virtuelles tenant compte de paramètres de qualité de service et de consommation énergétique. Une partie de l’énergie du bâtiment étant issue de panneaux photovoltaïques, la plateforme permet d’évaluer différentes solutions d’ordonnancement tenant compte de l’énergie solaire disponible et de la quantité d’énergie disponible dans les éléments de stockages, pour une charge serveur donnée. La plateforme permet également de rejouer des scénarios offline.

Maquette de smart city : Maquette d’une ville intelligente et connectée avec des routes, RSU, des nœuds edge computing (raspberry, téléphones, etc), des piétons (playmobil) et de la signalisation (feux tricolores, panneaux, etc), dont l’infrastructure repose sur NFV/SDN. Pour le moment, le prototype sert à implémenter, valider et évaluer des actions de gestion de QoS dans un environnement dynamique et mobile (placement, migration, scheduling, (re)configuration, etc.) des services déployés. (e.g., trust/recommendation, security/privacy, AI/ML, etc.).

QoS-Aware NFV-enabled IoT service plateform : Il s’agit d’une extension de notre plateforme de services M2M/IOT (OM2M) par l’ajout du déploiement dynamique des fonctions réseaux virtualisées (VNF) pour la gestion de trafic de bout en bout. L’originalité est de remplacer l’approche cloud de « scale-out systématique » par des solutions qui permettent de réduire le coût de déploiement des plateformes tout en maintenant la qualité de service acceptable. Nous avons démontré une réduction de 60% des coûts de déploiement en développant des solutions basées sur la virtualisation des fonctions de gestion de trafic de façon adaptée à un déploiement de bout en bout dans les plateformes M2M/IoT.
