The team addresses research questions as a whole, allowing different issues to be taken into account at each stage. Our research topics are explained below.
Advanced devices for nano- and opto-electronics
We develop micro/nano-technologies that integrate organic and inorganic materials in optoelectronic devices like VCSELs, OLEDs, and photodetectors, aiming to enhance compact optical systems for communication and instrumentation. Key efforts include advancing microcavity devices for blue-emitting OLEDs and III-V near-infrared devices, improving beam control through micro/nano polymer technologies, and creating tunable optical devices using nematic liquid crystals for stable, portable instrumentation.
Fundamental properties of nanostructures
We study the effect of the nanometric scale on the physical properties of the materials we develop. We are mainly interested in the unique fundamental properties of those nanostructures: structural properties, electronic properties, optical properties, ...
Advanced memories and approaches to information storage
Our research addresses information storage and aims to reduce the energy requirements by working on materials and system architecture, and by implementing disruptive approaches.
