An experimentation ecosystem
in symbiosis with platforms
The research carried out at LAAS-CNRS requires powerful experimental and technological resources. These resources are pooled around 6 constantly evolving technological platforms. This development will accompany the rise in power of the 2 transdisciplinary axes defined for the years to come: interactions with living things (biology, health) and the Adream program around ambient intelligence.
This clean room is one of the 5 national platforms in the Renatech network. It offers academics and industrialists access to its equipment which allows the development, patterning and processing of materials for the prototyping of micro and nano components in a wide variety of technological fields.
The Characterization platform brings together and organizes over 1300 m² with 150 test benches, the characterization of components and micro-nano systems in the fields: electrical, microwave, optics and biology-chemistry.
The Design platform brings together many high-performance workstations for simulating the behavior of systems in the fields: mechanical, chemical, electromagnetic, thermal, ... at the nanometric, micrometric and millimeter scales.
The robots platform provides the support to experiments for the ROB department teams.
This platform is intended for the implementation of embedded systems for space. Beyond the space domain, embedded systems are a cross-cutting component in many scientific and technical projects of the laboratory with the transverse application "Space" axis
The computation plaform consists of an HPC cluster and a team of engineers responsible for maintaining and developing this cluster, as well as assisting the research teams in their use of computing resources.
