Robots Platform

The robots platform provides the support to experiments for the ROB department teams.

Some 2023 robots

The robots platform manages all the experimental means in robotics in the lab. It is driven by engineers and technicians who maintain and develop hardware and software in support of the research experiments.

It is composed of two equipped (motion capture, furniture, safety systems, displays,... ) experimental indoor rooms and one outdoors flying arena. Available robots include one humanoid robot (pyrène), 4 indoors robots (2 PR2s and 2 peppers), 3 outdoors exploration robots and several drones.

Several software components have been developed at LAAS using the GeNoM integration framework and other tools (robotpkg, Stack of Tasks, Pinocchio...) are provided under a free software licence on the openrobots web site.
