Project "Creation of a biodiversity refuge on the Toulouse-Belin site"

The DR, OMP with CESBIO and LAAS have submitted a project in response to the CNRS call for initiatives for the ecological transition 2024.

The idea is to make the space formed by these sites and the "little wood" that separates us from the canal, a welcoming place for biodiversity (see map).

This initiative aims to inventory the surrounding natural habitat and associated species, and to encourage biodiversity in our workplace by joining the LPO refuge program.

It will also enable us to network with local biodiversity stakeholders and improve management practices (soil and tree protection, for example).

A natural awareness-raising area will be made available for schoolchildren/students (ecological monitoring and activities), as well as a study area for scientific projects.

We'll know at the end of May whether the "Creation of a biodiversity refuge on the Toulouse-Belin site" project has been selected...
