Instrumentation

The Photo team's developments of new photonic and photovoltaic materials, components and systems require multiphysics characterization benches (optical, electrical, thermal, mechanical). The team is backed by recognized instrumentation expertise and a number of dedicated test benches.

The development of multi-functional materials, components or systems in photonics or photovoltaics with ultimate performances requires dedicated characterization benches, with specific combinations of controls and multi-physics measurements, sometimes at the limits of the state of the art in terms of performance.

Each new technological development is closely associated with the design, instrumentation and operation of a specific bench, for the duration of the project.

These benches enable the control of several dozen parameters (excitation: wavelength, power, polarization, focus, XYZ position and theta phi angle of incidence; component: temperature, current, voltage; environment: ambient temperature, vibrations, illumination) while measuring a large number of properties (reflectivity, transmissivity, absorption, spectral emissivity, power consumption, etc.).

Their development is based on recognized expertise in opto-mechanics, instrumentation and signal processing.
