Prize for the best ‘ICSOC 2024’ demonstration for the SARA team
Cédric Sanou and Sami YANGUI won the prize for best demonstration at the International Conference on Service-Oriented Computing in Tunis.
Cédric Sanou and Sami YANGUI, from the SARA team, won the prize for the best demonstration at the International Conference on Service-Oriented Computing in Tunis from 3 to 6 December.
The demonstration featured an adaptive video streaming service broadcast dynamically to a platoon of autonomous vehicles (car platoon) via the Continuum Cloud. This term refers to a distributed, heterogeneous and dynamic ecosystem encompassing various computing environments such as Cloud Computing, Fog/Edge Computing and the Internet of Things (IoT).
The prototype features an innovative method of automatically switching learning models as the pack moves. This strategy makes it possible to proactively and dynamically manage Quality of Service (QoS) using accurate, real-time forecasts.
Finally, this research highlights the benefits of adopting software engineering methodologies, such as DevOps and Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), for managing Cloud Continuum networks and infrastructures. These methodologies are particularly well suited to environments characterised by high dynamics and increased mobility.
