Léopold Boudier

L'équipe PHOTO effectue des travaux de recherche en nano-/micro-technologie pour mettre au point des composants photoniques et leur combinaison afin de faciliter l'utilisation et le déploiement des systèmes optiques embarqués. Les activités portent notamment sur la diversification des fonctions intégrées implémentables, sur la réduction des dimensions, sur l'amélioration de l'efficacité énergétique voire sur l'augmentation de la robustesse et de la fiabilité. Ces travaux exploitent les complémentarités des expertises en nanophotonique, en procédés de fabrication (technologie des semiconducteurs III-V, hybride sur verre ou silicium), et en caractérisation/instrumentation des membres de l'équipe.

Sources avancées

Nos travaux visent à augmenter le potentiel d'intégration monolithique des composants photoniques et plus particulièrement des sources optiques, points clés des systèmes photoniques. L’objectif est la démonstration de sources optiques intégrées présentant des fonctionnalités avancées de contrôle spectral et temporel.

Traitement du front d'onde

L’équipe Photonique est positionnée sur le développement de fonctions optiques intégrées sur substrat III-V, verre ou silicium afin de démontrer des possibilités de traitement du front d’onde entre source et capteurs pour façonner une fonction passive et/ou active.

Energie, conversion, détection

L'équipe PHOTO couvre un large champ de recherche appliqué à l'énergie, la photo-conversion et la photo-détection. Les études concernent les interactions entre excitations élémentaires impliquées, les cellules photovoltaïques à base de semi-conducteurs III-V, les systèmes hybrides avec cellules solaires photovoltaïques, la conversion thermophotovoltaïque, et l'imagerie hyperspectrale.

Instrumentation

Les développements de l'équipe Photo de nouveaux matériaux, composants et systèmes photoniques et photovoltaïques nécessitent des bancs de caractérisation multiphysique (optique, électrique, thermique, mécanique). L'équipe s'appuie sur un savoir-faire reconnu en instrumentation et de nombreux bancs dédiés.

Micro-nano technologies

Le développement de composants matériels innovants pour les sciences photoniques repose sur l’avancée des micro-nano technologies. Nos travaux s’appuient donc sur une recherche effectuée en salle blanche en lien étroit avec le service TEAM, et visent à lever les verrous de l’intégration matérielle des composants photoniques, depuis l’élaboration des matériaux jusqu’à la démonstration de procédés multi-niveaux complexes.
