Presentation of the ISI team and its research thematics

The development of increasingly complex systems poses new constraints for the control of the life cycle of these systems in its different phases. The research carried out over for several years in the field of System Engineering has made it possible to develop a structured and coherent approach.

One of the objectives of System Engineering is to control the complexity related to the interaction of multiple components. Part of the interaction emerging from the integration of these components is deliberate and constitutes the services provided by the system. Another part of the interactions leads to unwanted physical effects and phenomena, which must be avoided or controlled. Optimizing interactions within a system is therefore one of the main purposes of System Engineering.

The ISI team is positioned in this context of development of complex systems in embedded applications mainly in the fields of aeronautics, automotive and energy.

The contributions of the ISI team aim to propose solutions to effectively implement the processes defined within the framework of system engineering. For this, our research is oriented along two main axes:

  • Co-piloting activities in system engineering projects
  • Model-based system integration and simulation
