Simon was a Research Director at CNRS, head of the Robotics and Interactions team. As a very committed member of LAAS and the scientific community for 35 years, Simon was unanimously appreciated in his professional environment.

He was a pioneer in multisensor perception and autonomous robots for planetary exploration research.

All colleagues who had the pleasure of working with him greatly valued his scientific qualities and skills, his curiosity and his openness to many fields outside his speciality. All those who knew Simon Lacroix loved and appreciated him for his human qualities, his kindness, his care and empathy for others, as well as his sense of humour and infectious optimism.

We have lost in Simon Lacroix a scientist who was very dear to us. We cherish the memory of a colleague and friend who was extremely engaging, caring and always committed to the common good.

We share the grief and mourning of his partner and family in this painful loss.

Leave a gesture of sympathy.
