The 12th edition of the EWSHM (European Workshop on Structural Health Monitoring) will be held July 7–10, 2026, at the Pierre Baudis Convention Center in Toulouse.
07.07.26 - 10.07.26
From July 7 to 10, 2026, Toulouse will become the hub of Structural Health Monitoring (SHM) by hosting the 12th edition of the EWSHM (European Workshop on Structural Health Monitoring). Early indicators confirm exceptional momentum, driven by a level of scientific and industrial engagement rarely seen since the event’s inception.
Two major sponsors are supporting this year’s event: AIRBUS, an iconic player in the global aerospace industry, and CEA List, recognized for its leading role in digital innovation and smart sensor technologies.
An edition with remarkable figures
EWSHM 2026 stands out for its unprecedented scale of participation:
- A 4-day program: conferences, an exhibition, demonstrations, competitions, and industrial tours
- More than 600 abstracts submitted—an all-time record
- 600 participants expected from 35 countries
This growing interest confirms the increasing importance of SHM in industrial strategies, predictive maintenance, and structural lifecycle management, at a time when reliability and sustainability are becoming key issues.
A comprehensive and well-structured scientific program
The 2026 edition will feature a wealth of content, centered around numerous highlights:
- 500 scientific presentations
- 2 short courses on SHM to be held on Monday, July 6
- 7 keynote presentations by international experts highlighting trends and needs in SHM across various industrial sectors: aerospace, civil engineering, nuclear, and more…
- 22 special sessions dedicated to emerging topics: AI and data science, digital twins, smart sensors, in-service monitoring, reliability, certification…
- SHM in Action, a plenary session featuring on-stage demonstrations of the best academic and industrial research
- A Student & Young Professionals Challenge, held for the first time, focusing on three diverse topics (embedded algorithms, innovative solutions for sensor node energy management, and anomaly detection using real-world data from civil engineering)
- An exhibition space, open continuously throughout the conference
- Tours of iconic sites in the region: Airbus facilities, the Clément Ader Institute, the LAAS-CNRS and LMDC laboratories, DGA Techniques Aérospatiales, and more…
A gala dinner at the heart of aviation history
The highlight of the week, the gala dinner, will be held at the Aéroscopia Museum, an iconic venue that traces the history of aviation. Participants will have the opportunity to enjoy a special evening surrounded by legendary aircraft such as the Concorde, the A380, and the Caravelle, in an atmosphere that is both welcoming and spectacular.
