Explored research areas are: 

  • Monitoring, Modeling and traffic analysis. 

The objective is the design and the analysis of mathematical models to predict, optimize and monitor the performance of next generation networks. Our contributions are both theoretical in nature, with the design of new approaches of stochastic modeling and distributed control, and applied with the development of metrology tools and software for networks analysis.

  • Autonomic communication architectures. 

We consider both highly constrained environments and heterogeneous dynamic large-scale contexts. This is addressed consistently considering both the requirements of applications that these networks support and the constraints of the environments in which they must operate.

  • Protocol mechanisms and adaptive or guaranteed services.

Our goal is to design for a given level of communication, protocols and mechanisms able of providing basic adaptive or guaranteed communication services to a higher level of communication at the application level or at the end user level.

  • Planning and optimization of networks. 

Our studies focus on the one hand on routing optimization to ensure provisioning of devices respecting a predefined quality at minimal cost, and on searching optimal topologies. On the other hand, we work on optimizing the deployment of new networks, either without infrastructure or spontaneous, without prior organization and configuration.

  • Development of experimental platforms. 

The objective is to provide technical support for testing and validating protocol architectures and ¬networks mechanisms resulting from our research, mainly on issues related to QoS, security and supervision in sensor networks, the Internet of Things, large scale networks and dynamic networks.
