PHOTO : Novel concepts - Guided-mode resonant filter-based reflectors, coupleurs and micro-displays
Cavity resonant gratings are identified as structures that allow the realization of efficient reflectors and couplers on small dimensions. Based on innovative modelling using coupled modes, we have studied the design of coupling structures with a high quality factor and controlled spatial profiles on surfaces in the cm range, whether in multiple or single cavities. This last configuration allows a better control of the spatial properties both regarding intensity and phase. It has been shown that these structures have a high potential in holography. The design of such structures with low index materials has also been studied.
This work is being carried out within the framework of the LAAS/ESSILOR Joint Laboratory (OPERA).
