Francesco Ferrante won best thesis prize GdR MACS – CNRS Research Network on Modeling, Analysis and Control of Dynamic Systems
The contributions of Francesco Ferrante's PhD concern the stability and stabilization of systems with quantized or intermittent input/output. Actually, the study of such kinds of systems has implied to study discontinuous systems and therefore the notions of solutions and also an adequate modeling issued from the use of dynamical hybrid systems. Ingredients based on Lyapunov theory, differential inclusion tools, generalized sector conditions and compact sets allow to deal with the quantization in space or in time of the input/output. Hence, constructive conditions (constructive conditions in the sense that theoretical conditions are associated to efficient numerical algorithms) have been derived for stability, performance and observation purposes. Francesco Ferrante will receive his prize during the 20th IFAC World Congress which will take place in July 2017 in Toulouse.
