The actuators of a dynamic system, such as the ailerons of an airplane or the valves of a hydraulic device, are sometimes pushed to their maximum amplitude. This saturation must be well understood in order to prevent it from disturbing or even damaging the whole mechanism. To this end, researchers from the MAC team at LAAS-CNRS and the L2S lab have developed a mathematical approach that allows to better characterize the safe operating domain of a system whose actuators are saturated.
