In this paper, we propose an analytical framework for monitoring and analyzing QoS of publish/subscribe systems on MANET. Our framework copes with intermittent connectivity frequently occurring in MANET and provides statistical methods allowing detecting QoS degradations affecting links between brokers at the middleware layer. Besides, our analytical framework identifies QoS degradation source which enables to repair the system. The proposed framework is extensively evaluated with simulation experiments. Simulations results show its efficiency.

In group-wide collaborative environment, managing the adaptive communication is a challenging task. It implies the monitoring of sudden change in the activities while providing a solution to maintain the connection with the available resources. In this work, we design a software agent that supports autonomic computing to ensure reliable communications among the mobile devices and Autonomous Ground vehicles (AAV). This issue is addressed in the context of save and rescue missions carried out during natural disasters such as floods and forest fires by human and voluntary operators within the framework of wireless environment. The paper focuses the autonomic functionalities of the components used to monitor, analyze, plan, and execute the adaptive mechanisms in case of evolution (mission/environment). We distribute this agent among devices and vehicles to ensure the adaptive task and it is tackled by using appropriate policies used to select the decision and executed without manual intervention. This research is applied to a Crisis Management System (CMS) within the context of the French RTRA project (ROSACE).

This paper aims at designing of adaptive framework for supporting collaborative work of different actors in public safety and disaster recovery missions. In such scenarios, firemen and robots interact to each other to reach a common goal; firemen team is equipped with smart devices and robots team is supplied with communication technologies, and should carry on specific tasks. Here, reliable connection is mandatory to ensure the interaction between actors. But wireless access network and communication resources are vulnerable in the event of a sudden unexpected change in the environment. Also, the continuous change in the mission requirements such as inclusion/exclusion of new actor, changing the actor's priority and the limitations of smart devices need to be monitored. To perform dynamically in such case, the presented framework is based on a generic multi-level modeling approach that ensures adaptation handled by semantic modeling. Automated self-configuration is driven by rule-based reconfiguration policies through ontology.

This paper aims to presenting an approach of modeling multi-scale and multi point of view to facilitate the description and the validation of dynamic software architectures. We present a model-based design approach founded on visual notations allowing to describe, by extending UML notations, dynamic software architectures for different description levels. We describe a progressive process of refinement to automate the transition from a generic model describing a given point of view at a given scale to a specific model describing this point of view at another scale. To ensure compatibility between the different levels of description, we adopt a rule-oriented transformation technique. The rules manage the refinement of a given scale model to another and also the transition from a point of view to another at the same scale. The modeling of dynamic software architectures generates models that must be valid with respect to their meta-models. The approach that we propose is based on validation rules between different scales and different points of view at the same scale. This validation ensures the validity of the architectural model. We also present the interface of an Eclipse plug-in that we developed to implement and experiment our approach. We illustrate our approach by its application to a case study modeling Emergency Response and Crisis Management Systems(ERCMS)
