Path planning :
- The set-up of the list of operations to be carried out in order to join an initial configuration to a final one by a continuous trajectory which respects the allowed movements.
- The notion of collision-free path planning can be formulated in the following way:
- "Let S be a mobile system and E an environment; we have to calculate the trajectory T allowing S to go from the initial point Pi to the final one Pf avoiding collisions with E."
A 3D design application program. This software was developed by CADCENTRE. It allows only a geometric design. It represents solids which are defined by an operator. It cannot define kinematics between several elements. A unit has been developed by EDF using the PDMS software: it easily allows to move design elements and resolves the lack of kinematic functionality in PDMS.
- Software developed by LAAS. Its aim is to settle a motion planning tool for 3D environments, exploiting the latest research results in the domain of robot path planning. Within the framework of the MOLOG project, Move3D is destined to be integrated into the PDMS software.
