Engineering applications

Insofar as this tool allows to generate automatically and quickly many trajectories, the MOLOG project helps operators take decisions on transportation in complex 3D environments (vehicles, moving of engineering components).

At present EDF's departments make trajectory simulations to prepare maintenance operations in nuclear power stations. These researches, which use 3D design of installations, allow to verify the kinematics of the movements of bulky components and possibly to propose better trajectories.

The replacements of steam generators, lid of tank or turbopump are examples of such operations of maintenance. These elements can weigh several dozens of tons and have characteristic dimensions of several metres. Their replacement require very powerful handling vehicles and preliminary works inside the site.
