Organization and Control of Discrete Systems |
In restructuration |
Because of their complexity and their distributed, open and reactive features, discrete systems, and particularly production systems of goods and services, raise some specific problems in decision and activity management. The group competences in optimisation, control and computer sciences are combined to solve problems in planning, scheduling, supervision and real-time control. In addition, the contribution of human sciences is essential in grasping the real mechanisms within the enterprise, and elaborating decision support tools. The pluri-disciplinary work which is conducted substancially relies on the concept of constraint which helps combining a quantitative meaning (the expression of constraints) with a cognitive viewpoint (the decision space satisfying the set of constraints).
|
The research field of the group is decomposed into five complementary domains. Each of them both corresponds to a scientific area and to an industrial challenge.
