Planning-Optimisation
This domain gathers several studies having a particular relevance to problems of "Planning" and "Inventory management" in manufacturing. Most of these problems may actually be considered as particular instances of optimal control problems for dynamical systems in discrete time or continuous time. This is the reason why this more general framework is currently investigated.
Two major research topics are considered :
- "Markov Decision Processes" in discrete-time for general state spaces of Borel type (infinite dimensional), thus allowing to consider most of the potential applications of optimal control. The objectives are to find weak sufficient conditions of existence of stationary optimal policies, as well as to determine convergent numerical approximate schemes.
- "Robust control under constraints", for which the main purpose is to design a robust control under various constraints. In particular, the (A,B)-invariance approach characterizes the existence of solutions to constrained control problems and allows for constructing state feedback controllers.
