Microwave Devices and Circuits

Next

The growing market of microwave systems, mostly for telecommunications (mobile and satellite communications) is spurring the development of new low-cost microwave integrated circuits which exhibit a better performance at higher frequencies. Semiconductor devices with enhanced capabilities, mostly based on III-V and SiGe compounds, are therefore being developped to fulfil these needs and to provide higher integration capabilities at a lower cost.

The "Microwave Devices and Circuits (MDC)" research group is currently concerned with improving microwave circuits (MICs and MMICs) through investigation of microwave semiconductor devices and development of computer aided design. Particular emphasis is being placed on electrical noise measurement and modelling and on the assessment of the non-linear behaviour of these advanced devices.

We are also heavily involved in the micromachining of microwave circuits on silicon.
